Decrescendo

Installation, 2015.

Decrescendo is an installation of a copy of a copy of a copy, and so on. The portrait photo has been photocopied so often as for the subject to become unrecognizable. What remains is an abstract entity. Isolated blotches, without meaning. The transience of the depicted person, and thus the proof of their existence, is the central topic of this work. What remains are memories. Memories that will be inherited, passed on, until all information contained within the original has been lost.
