href=\"http:\/\/www.erfgoedbrabant.nl\/actueel\/agenda\/2015\/herdenken\/\" title=\"Herdenken blijft een opgave\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cHerdenken blijft een opgave\u201d<\/a> (To commemorate remains a challenge) that will take place in Tilburg, The Netherlands, at the <a
href=\"http:\/\/www.erfgoedbrabant.nl\/\" title=\"Efgoed Academie Brabant\" target=\"_blank\">Erfgoed Academie Brabant<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The main focus of the symposium is the question on how to keep new generations engaged in commemoration, specifically of World War II. It combines commemoration with finding a newer, more individual interpretation and meaning for these younger people.<\/p>\n<p>The symposium will take place on the 9th of April and will be in Dutch.<\/p>\n<p>If you happen to be around, please join us!<\/p>\n<p>In the <a
href=\"http:\/\/www.inamarieschmidt.com\/?project=memory-transition\" title=\"Memory Transition\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cMemory Transition\u201d<\/a> installation, the individual memory is placed alongside the collective memory: Culture shapes us as individuals but also shapes the way we perceive events. What the individual remembers can be very different from what the state, culture or a social group of people perceive as memory.
